Police Crack Down on Anti-Social Behaviour in Frinton

Officers have slammed a dispersal order on a group of rowdy youths causing chaos in Frinton. The move comes after a spike in anti-social behaviour over recent weeks, with fresh reports sparking action on Friday night (26 November).

20 Dispersed, 5 Sent Home in Weekend Clampdown

Since Friday evening, police have been on patrol, confronting unruly groups and individuals. Where trouble was brewing, officers ordered them to clear off. Over Friday and Saturday night, 20 people were dispersed and five escorted home.

Sergeant Aaron Homatopoulos from the Tendring community policing team warned: “Frinton is a safe town but the behaviour of a small number of individuals is having a detrimental impact on residents and businesses.”

Dispersal Zone Named – What You Need to Know

The dispersal order remains in force until 8pm on Sunday, 28 November. It covers a wide area including:

  • B1033 Connaught Avenue (inside gates to Esplanade junction)
  • West & east Esplanades, lower promenade and greensward
  • Witton Wood Road (including train station)
  • Old Road, Old Way, Harold Grove, Harold Way, Harold Road
  • Fourth Avenue, Third Avenue, Second Avenue, The Crescent
  • Queens Road, Raglan Road, Cambridge Road, St Mary’s Road
  • Glebe Way, Greenway, Old Parsonage Way, Hadleigh Road
  • Oxford Road, Eton Road, Pole Barn Lane

Police Urge Locals to Speak Up

Sergeant Homatopoulos added: “We are committed to making sure people feel safe and to finding long-term solutions. We’re working with parents, partners, and the community to tackle the root causes of this behaviour.”

He urged anyone who witnesses trouble or has info to contact police online at www.essex.police.uk, call 101, or anonymously tip off Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
