Man Rescued After Getting Trapped in Dorset Mud
A man was rescued after being stuck in thick mud near Chewton, Dorset, on Monday afternoon (15 February). His family alerted the coastguard when he found himself trapped and unable to escape.
Emergency Services Rush to the Scene
Coastguard rescue teams from Lymington, Southbourne, and Poole were scrambled, alongside Dorset Fire and Rescue and South 1 Ambulance Service. The rescuers used specialist gear that pumps air and water around the trapped man, easing him free.
Shaken but Unharmed
Though cold and exhausted, the man escaped without injuries. A spokesman for the 1 Coastguard said, “Getting stuck in mud can be a terrifying experience. The teams did a great job extracting him. After checks by the ambulance service, he was safely reunited with his family.”
