Tragic Crash in Harlow: Elderly Man Killed Instantly
An elderly man has died on the spot in a horrific collision involving a car, lorry, and pedestrian in Harlow. The smash happened on Gilden Way just before 9am, sparking chaos and a lengthy road closure.
Deadly Collision Closes Gilden Way for Hours
Emergency crews rushed to the scene at around 8:50am after reports of the crash. Essex Police confirmed the victim, a man in his 70s driving the car, died instantly. The smash forced Gilden Way to shut for hours, causing major traffic delays and frustration for commuters.
Pedestrian Injured but Out of Danger
A pedestrian was also hurt in the crash and was hospitalised. Luckily, their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or permanently disabling.
“This tragic incident has shocked the local community in Harlow,” said a spokesperson as investigations continue.
