M1 SHUTDOWN: Serious Crash Halts Traffic Between Flitwick and Milton Keynes

The M1 Motorway is CLOSED both ways after a horrific two-vehicle crash early this morning. The shutdown stretches from junction 12 at Flitwick to junction 13 near Milton Keynes South.

Crash Strikes at 2.30am, Air Ambulance Responds

The smash happened just after 2.30am on the southbound side. Emergency crews, including an air ambulance, rushed to assist. The helicopter apparently landed on the northbound carriageway to avoid the chaos.

Drivers Stuck, Diversions in Place

Drivers caught in the jam are being turned around slowly as officers clear the scene. A diversion route is now active to ease traffic chaos.

The motorway will remain closed at least until 10am as investigators piece together the cause and recovery teams work to clear the wreckage.
