Stephen Webb Slams Brief Romance with David as a Total Bust
Stephen Webb, 54, has slammed his short-lived fling with David from Guernsey as a complete non-starter. The former Gogglebox star met David on E4’s 2024 dating show and initially called him a “hottie” and “something special.” But the spark didn’t last long.
News broke on October 1 that Stephen split from David after discovering he was juggling other men and swiping on dating apps behind his back.
“The whole David thing was – I was part of a TV show. I wouldn’t say we were together at all. No,” Stephen exclusively told BANG Showbiz.
Stephen Dips Toe Back into Dating—But Single and Loving It
Despite travelling to Guernsey to see David, Stephen is now taking things slow and enjoying single life.
“I’m just dipping my toe back into the dating pool. I’m actually not really looking to meet anyone. I’m happy being single for now,” he said.
The 2024 Dancing on Ice contestant split from ex-husband Daniel Lustig-Webb earlier this year after six years of marriage. He relishes the freedom.
“I just love that I can do what I want, go where I want, please myself, eat what food I want, watch what TV I want to watch.”
“Before I was married, I always travelled alone – solo to Mount Everest base camp even. I’m really good with my own company.”
Still Besties with Ex Daniel – And Living Under One Roof!
Stephen remains close pals with ex Daniel and they still share a home despite ending their marriage in April 2024.
“I’m still living with Daniel. We’re the best of friends,” Stephen confirmed. They also co-own two hair salons in West Sussex.
Stephen Webb Quits Gogglebox: “Got Bored of Repeating Myself”
Stephen revealed why he bowed out of Gogglebox at the end of 2023. Tired of recycling the same old jokes, he likened himself to a soap opera character stuck in a loop.
“I got to the 10th anniversary of Gogglebox and started feeling like Ken Barlow – there from day one, churning out the same old sh**,” he told The Mirror.
“I was getting bored of my own jokes. For example, putting a doughnut in my mouth must have been done four times – it still made every show!”
Stephen and Daniel broke the news on Instagram.
“After careful consideration, Daniel and I have decided we will not be returning for the new series of Gogglebox. We feel the time is right to move on and explore other opportunities.”
