Stephen Webb Dumps Brief Romance After Dating Drama
Stephen Webb, 54, has slammed his quick fling with David from Guernsey as a complete flop. The former Gogglebox star met David on E4’s 2024 dating show and was quick to call him a “hottie” and “something special.”
But the spark didn’t last long. On October 1, news broke that Stephen had split from David after discovering he was juggling other men and secretly swiping dating apps behind Stephen’s back.
“The whole David thing was – I was part of a TV show. I wouldn’t say we were together at all. No,” Stephen exclusively told BANG Showbiz.
Happy Flying Solo
Despite travelling from his home to Guernsey to see David, Stephen is now tentatively returning to the dating scene — but he’s in no rush to settle down. The Dancing on Ice 2024 contestant said he’s happy being single for now.
“I’m just dipping my toe back into the dating pool. I’m actually not really looking to meet anyone. I’m happy being single for now,” he revealed.
Having split from ex-husband Daniel Lustig-Webb earlier this year after six years together, Stephen is loving the freedom.
“I just love that I can do what I want, go where I want, please myself, eat what food I want, watch what TV I want to watch.”
“Before I was married, I always travelled alone — solo to Mount Everest base camp even. I’m really good with my own company.”
Still Best Mates with Ex – And Roommates Too!
Stephen and his ex Daniel remain firm friends and still live together, despite calling off their marriage in April 2024.
“I’m still living with Daniel. We’re the best of friends,” Stephen confirmed. The pair also co-own two hair salons in West Sussex.
Why Stephen Webb Quit Gogglebox
Stephen spilled the beans on why he left Gogglebox at the end of 2023: boredom. The star grew tired of recycling the same jokes over and over.
“I got to the 10th anniversary of Gogglebox and started feeling like Ken Barlow – there from day one, churning out the same old sh**,” he told The Mirror.
“I was getting bored of my own jokes. For example, putting a doughnut in my mouth must have been done four times – it still made every show!”
Stephen and Daniel announced their departure on Instagram: “After careful consideration, Daniel and I have decided we will not be returning for the new series of Gogglebox. We feel the time is right to move on and explore other opportunities.”
