Cian and Jordan Adams, known as the FTD Brothers, completed the London Marathon today as part of a campaign to raise awareness and funds for families affected by frontotemporal dementia (FTD), a form of dementia with no cure. Jordan ran carrying a 25kg fridge on his back in a personal and public demonstration to highlight the impact of the disease.

Personal Battle With Dementia

The brothers’ campaign is deeply rooted in their family history. Their mother, Geraldine, was diagnosed with early-onset frontotemporal dementia in 2010 and died aged 52 in 2016. Both Jordan and Cian have since undergone genetic testing and carry the mutation for FTD, meaning they are likely to develop symptoms in their early 40s.

Next Endurance Challenge

Beginning tomorrow, Jordan Adams will take on an extraordinary challenge, running 32 marathons in 32 consecutive days across every county in Ireland. This endurance effort continues to raise awareness and crucial funds to support families living with dementia.

Raising Funds And Awareness

The brothers’ foundation shares proceeds with the Alzheimer Society of Ireland, splitting funds raised to aid research and support. Their initiative highlights a commitment to break the cycle of dementia through education, care, and scientific progress.

Community And Hope

Growing up in Redditch, Worcestershire, the Adams brothers channel their personal experience into a wider mission to help others. “This is about using the time we have to make a difference,” they stated, aiming to turn personal loss into lasting impact. Supporters can follow Jordan’s progress and contribute to the fundraising efforts via links on his Facebook page and the dedicated campaign page.
