Blazing car sparks chaos on A27 near Port Solent!
Firefighters raced to the scene after a car suddenly burst into flames outside Hendy Ford Car Dealership on Southampton Road tonight.
Flaming Car Sends Smoke Billowing
Several concerned witnesses dialled 999 to report the fiery blaze. A fire crew was quickly dispatched and battled the intense fire that engulfed the vehicle.
“The vehicle was well alight and crews extinguished the fire,” a fire service spokesperson said. “There was a large amount of diesel and oil on the road, so Highways were requested to attend.”
Road Chaos as Lane Blocked
Thankfully, no injuries have been reported. But drivers are stuck in heavy traffic, as one lane on the A27 remains closed while emergency teams clear the mess.
Motorists are urged to expect delays near Port Solent and seek alternative routes where possible.
