Ben Wazabanga, aged 23, has been found guilty of the murder of 26-year-old Ayowale Aladejana in New Cross. The jury at Southwark Crown Court delivered the verdict on Thursday, 11 June, after a thorough investigation.
The police investigation revealed that the killing was connected to a financial dispute between the two men, who were former business partners. Tensions over money escalated into violence, culminating in the fatal attack.
Evidence presented in court showed that Wazabanga armed himself with a knife before carrying out the attack. Extensive CCTV footage and mobile phone data were analysed by police, providing clear proof of premeditation.
Ben Wazabanga is scheduled to be sentenced at Southwark Crown Court on Monday, 13 July.
