Havant Police Crack Down on Motorbike Madness in Dunsbury Hill Farm
Havant cops have launched Operation Herd to tackle rising motorcycle chaos in the Dunsbury Hill Farm area, just south of the A3(M). Since August 2016, locals have reported 43 incidents involving mopeds, motorbikes, mini motos, and GoPeds causing havoc.
Teen Riders Turning Fields into Illegal Racetracks
In the last six months alone, there have been 15 reports of stolen bikes and three suspicious vehicles. The biggest problem? Teenagers using a local field as a makeshift racetrack with zero regard for residents or pedestrians.
- Riding without helmets
- Off-road riding where it’s banned
- Failing to stop for police
These reckless acts put both riders and the public at serious risk.
Noise Nuisance and Public Safety at Breaking Point
Havant Borough Council’s Environmental Health Team is stepping in too, ready to slap noise abatement notices on riders making a racket. The constant noise and danger are wrecking local residents’ quality of life.
High-Visibility Patrols and Crackdowns Underway
Sergeant Garry Smith warned: “All anti-social behaviour impacts on people’s daily lives. We are concerned about the increase in motorcycle nuisance around Dunsbury Hill Farm. Many riders are teens who don’t realise they’re breaking the law.”
Officers will be out in force this January with high-visibility patrols, stop checks, and powers to seize vehicles under Section 59 for repeated offences.
