Tragic Huddersfield Crash: Daniel Backhouse-Dyson Dies in Motorcycle Collision

Daniel Backhouse-Dyson, 42, has been named as the man who died after a crash in Huddersfield’s Fixby area on Monday night.

Heartbreaking Family Tribute

Daniel’s family shared a touching tribute: “Daniel was a loving son of Val and Paul Backhouse. A devoted dad to Sonny. A kind and caring brother to Gemma, Zoe, Samantha and the late Anna Backhouse, and a loving uncle to Shay, Kacey and Annalise.” “He was full of life, always sharing stories and trying to put the world to rights. We will miss his funny tales and contagious laugh that will live on through his son.” “He will be dearly missed by us all.”

Fatal Crash on Bradford Road

The tragedy unfolded around 7.40pm on Monday (20 April) when Daniel came off his red Honda motorcycle on the A641 Bradford Road, near Bradley Roundabout. Despite emergency efforts, he suffered fatal injuries. The Major Collision Enquiry Team confirmed no other vehicles were involved, but the investigation is ongoing.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Detective Sergeant Nina Roper urged anyone who saw the crash or events leading up to it to come forward.

“A man has sadly lost his life. We want to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dashcam or CCTV footage around the time,” she said.
