Desperate Search for Missing Gosport Pensioner with Dementia
The family of Joyce Crouthers, a 75-year-old pensioner from Gosport, are begging for help to find her and bring her safely home. Joyce vanished from her Honeysuckle Close home around 4:50pm on Wednesday, August 3.
Worrying Details About Joyce’s Disappearance
Joyce suffers from dementia and left without her medication. Her family fears she may be confused and lost. Daughter Julie Bean shares their heartache:
“I just want her home – she is very precious to us all.
Mum can get very confused. She gets frightened when she goes outside and does not like the dark or public transport.
If someone sees her, Mum is really friendly and smiley, but sometimes she looks vacant when confused.
Please take a moment to check if she is okay before calling the police.”
What Joyce Looks Like
- White female, approximately 5ft 7ins tall
- Medium build
- Very short brown hair, possibly greying
- Likely wearing dark clothes and carrying a small dark handbag
Police Plea to the Public
Inspector Mark Lamper says Joyce’s disappearance is “very much out of character”. He urges locals to be vigilant:
“She has been missing since Wednesday, and like her family, we are growing increasingly concerned for her welfare.
Without her medication, she could be confused and vulnerable.
Please study her picture and description. If you spot her, check she’s okay and contact the police immediately.”
The family desperately wants Joyce home. If you have any information, please call the police straight away.
