“My Entire World” – Widow Pays Tearful Tribute to Navy Vet Killed in Gosport Cycle Rage Attack
The family of 69-year-old Royal Navy veteran Roy Galvin has paid a heartfelt tribute after his tragic death following a cycle rage incident in Gosport.
Tragic Incident on Bury Road
Roy, from Alverstoke, was involved in a dispute on the one-way system of Bury Road around 5:50pm on Sunday, September 25. The altercation ended with him falling and hitting his head on the road.
He was rushed to QA Hospital in Cosham but sadly died this morning.
Wife’s Emotional Tribute
Roy’s family has asked for privacy during this difficult time. His widow, Deborah Galvin, shared a touching statement:
“Roy was my total companion and we had a lot of fun sharing our lives together. He was incredibly intelligent and very, very funny. He just loved life and was my best friend in the world.”
“Roy retired from the Royal Navy in 1987 and had so many friends in the local area. Everybody knew him when he walked the poodles.”
“He was my entire world and was very loyal. He was a wonderful husband to me, a brother, and thought the world of his nephew Grant. We will all miss him very much.”
Local Hero Remembered
Roy’s death has left a close-knit community in shock. Known for his loyalty and warmth, he was a beloved figure in Alverstoke and Gosport.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack. No arrests have been announced yet.
