Shock Allegations Against Labour’s Thomas Fawns
Thomas Fawns, elected in May 2022 to represent Upper Edmonton, was suspended by the Labour Party in February 2024 after three women made sexual assault accusations against him. Despite the suspension, Fawns is still active as an independent councillor and sits on Enfield Council’s planning committee.
Police Probe Underway but No Arrests Yet
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed an ongoing investigation into the claims, which reportedly date from 2011 to 2016. So far, no arrests have been made and no charges filed.
Labour Remains Tight-Lipped as Councillor Keeps His Seat
“This is subject to an ongoing police investigation and we are unable to comment further at present,” a Labour spokesperson said.
Despite suspension, Fawns continues to attend council meetings and is listed as an independent on the council’s website.
Councillor Silence Amid Growing Scrutiny
Repeated requests for comment from Thomas Fawns about the allegations and investigation have gone unanswered.
