Fiat Rolls Onto Side After Crashing in Gosport
A black Fiat 500 flipped onto its side after hitting a kerb in Gosport last night. The driver was rushed to hospital, but luckily is not believed to have serious injuries.
Emergency Services Rush to Scene
The crash happened just after 10pm on Wednesday evening. The South Central Ambulance Service sent two ambulances, a rapid response paramedic, and a specialist HART team after reports the driver was trapped.
Meanwhile, Hampshire Fire and Rescue dispatched two fire engines from Gosport and Fareham, plus a specialist rescue support unit from Cosham. Crews made the vehicle safe and righted it back onto its wheels.
Police closed Nobes Avenue and the junction with Brewers Lane during recovery work.
Locals Demand Action Over Reckless Driving
Residents in the area say dangerous speeding is to blame for the crash. They claim Nobes Avenue is often used as a makeshift race track.
“This one may have been a genuine accident,” said local Mandy Harding. “I live in Nobes and it’s getting worse. People treat it like a race track, and at night it’s mopeds. Someone will be killed or seriously injured one day.”
Community calls are growing for police to crack down on reckless driving before someone is seriously hurt.
