Mother of One Admits Brutal GBH
Alicia Savage, 21, from Clarendon Street, pleaded guilty at Portsmouth Crown Court on Monday to causing grievous bodily harm to 26-year-old Barney Butwell.
The victim suffered a serious head injury in the early hours of April 2, left fighting for his life after the vicious assault.
Victim Fought for Life in Hospital
Barney spent six weeks in hospital, including time in an induced coma. Doctors had to drain fluid from his brain twice following the nasty attack.
Judge Warns: Jail Still Possible
Police initially treated the case as attempted murder when they arrested Savage. At court, Judge Ian Pearson warned that prison time is very much on the table.
Savage has been released on bail pending a social inquiry report, with sentencing expected on December 9, 2016.
