Daylight Robbery Foiled as Two Thugs Smash Jewellery Store Window in Andover
Detectives are hunting two brazen crooks who tried to smash their way into David Mellor Jewellers in broad daylight. The attempted robbery happened at 10.50am on Wednesday, April 27, at the shop on 1 Court, Andover.
Thugs on Scooter Fail to Break Glass
The pair rolled up on a black scooter, armed with lump hammers and a knife. They tried to shatter the store’s glass frontage but failed. The quick-thinking store manager chased them off before any loot was taken.
Suspects Spotted Fleeing – Police Seek Witnesses
After the failed smash-and-grab, the offenders are believed to have sped off towards the 1 area. Police have released CCTV images showing two suspects dressed in dark clothing – one wearing a dark motorcycle helmet, the other a white helmet.
Detective Constable Jonathan Swift, Northern CID, said: “This was a brazen daylight robbery attempt. We want to hear from anyone who saw these two figures before or after the incident.”
