Armed Robbery Attempt Foiled at Lloyds Bank in Liphook
Two men have been arrested following a dramatic attempted armed robbery at Lloyds Bank in Liphook on Monday, May 16. Police rushed to the scene after reports that the duo demanded cash while brandishing an imitation firearm.
Suspect Charged and Remanded
Jonathan Pay, 46, from Lindford, now faces serious charges. He has been charged with two counts of attempted robbery, possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear, and wounding with intent.
Pay was remanded in custody and is set to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates Court today, Friday, May 20.
Second Suspect Released on Bail
The other suspect, a 31-year-old British man with no fixed address, has been released on bail. He must report back to police on July 13 as inquiries continue.
