A brutal stabbing has sent shockwaves through Longfield estate. Daniel Miles, 35, was rushed to hospital after being slashed in the neck with a broken glass bottle during a violent street fight on Bramley Lane.
Seven Men Bailed After Bloody Bramley Lane Brawl
The savage attack happened at around 7.25pm last Wednesday (1 October). Emergency services, including Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance crews, raced to the scene. Danny – as friends call him – was urgently taken to Royal United Hospital for treatment.
Police arrested seven men aged 35 to 68 over the clash. All have been released on bail while inquiries continue.
Family Tragedy Haunts Victim
The stabbing is even more harrowing considering Danny’s recent grief. His brother, Benjamin Swift, died weeks ago from a serious neck injury after falling through a window in a nearby horror.
“He’s going to be fine but has healing to do, it was very scary for him especially after what happened to his brother Ben,” a family insider revealed.
“Danny’s been struggling more with drugs and alcohol since Ben died in that terrible incident.”
Victim’s Troubled Past Comes Under Spotlight
Wiltshire Police confirmed all involved knew each other and stressed there’s no ongoing threat to the public.
Meanwhile, Daniel has a checkered recent history. He pleaded guilty to theft and a racially aggravated public order offence against a Trowbridge shopkeeper. He faces sentencing on 14 November – if he recovers enough to attend.
