Talented Guitarist Chris Burgess Dies in Tragic Basingstoke Crash
Tributes have poured in for Chris Burgess, 27, a gifted guitarist from Alton who lost his life in a horrific collision on the A339 in Basingstoke last week. Chris was driving his Volkswagen Golf when it smashed into a Volkswagen Tiguan at around midnight on May 12.
Tragically, Chris was pronounced dead at the scene. His family and friends have today shared heartfelt memories of the young musician.
Friends Remember a Bright, Funny Soul
“Chris will be missed by so many,” said those close to him. “He was a great friend, a loving son, and a caring brother with a kind heart. His wicked sense of humour made everyone laugh.”
They added, “Anyone who knew Chris felt the loss of a daily joke and a joyful spirit. The local music scene has lost an incredible talent who injected energy and life into every band he played with.”

Man Charged Over Fatal Crash
Police have charged 34-year-old Richard Storry from Worcestershire with causing death by driving without due care and attention while being unfit through drink.
