Brutal bar brawl leaves young woman needing major facial surgery

Jessica Cloke, daughter of a high-ranking RAF commander, has been locked up for 14 months after a drunken rampage in a Cyprus pub left her former friend needing 50 stitches and reconstructive surgery. The drama erupted at The Hamlet pub, inside the Sovereign Base Area. Witnesses say Cloke was shouting in 20-year-old Madison Bagley’s face before dousing her with wine and smashing a glass across her face in a chilling release of “drunken anger,” as the judge put it.

Old friendship turned sour leads to shocking assault

Once close pals, Cloke and Bagley had fallen out months earlier. On that fateful night, Cloke was overheard bitterly ranting about Bagley before storming across the bar as Bagley tried to walk away. The vicious attack was caught on CCTV, showing Cloke’s relentless blows that caused a horrific wound from Bagley’s eye to cheekbone – dangerously close to her eye. The victim’s family said she has become a shell of her former self, struggling with the trauma and lengthy recovery.

Guilty plea after CCTV evidence surfaces

Cloke first denied causing grievous bodily harm but caved quickly after CCTV footage was played in court. In a chilling recorded statement, she admitted: “I just saw red and threw my glass at her.” She is now serving her sentence at HMP Dhekelia in Cyprus. The Ministry of Defence condemned her conduct as “unacceptable,” stressing there is no place for crime in the armed forces community. Meanwhile, Bagley continues treatment. Her brother called her “really brave” but admitted the attack has left lasting scars on her confidence and wellbeing.
