Totton Crime Crackdown: Multiple Arrests After Spate of Offences
Police have swooped on a series of crimes in Totton, arresting several suspects linked to burglaries, thefts, and a robbery. The latest busts show law enforcement cracking down hard on local troublemakers.
Three Men Busted Over Rumbridge Street Burglary
Following a break-in at a Rumbridge Street property on March 21, officers arrested three men. A 26-year-old Totton man was bailed until June 9. Two others – a 24-year-old and a 48-year-old from Totton – were bailed until June 12 while investigations continue.
Motor Vehicle Theft Charges for Bournemouth Man
Scott Hunt, 42, from Lansdowne Gardens, Bournemouth, now faces tough charges. He is accused of three counts of theft from motor vehicles, vehicle interference, and possession of a Class B drug in Totton. Hunt is set to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on April 20.
Robbery and Burglary Suspects in Custody
- A 16-year-old boy from Calmore was arrested over a robbery at a Totton cash machine near Poundland on April 1. He has since been released but remains under investigation.
- Matthew Wedgner, a 40-year-old man with no fixed address, was charged with a burglary (no violence) and theft at a Shakespeare Drive home on March 8. He remains in custody and will appear in court on April 11.

New Forest District Commander Chief Inspector Rob Mitchell praised officers for their hard work. “Our dedicated neighbourhood team in Totton, backed by patrol officers and detectives, is committed to stamping out crime,” he said. “Public support is vital. We urge residents to keep sharing information via 101.”
