Tragic Death of Margarida Ressurreicao Shakes Southampton
Shock and sorrow have hit Southampton after 38-year-old Margarida Ressurreicao was found dead at a home on Redwood Way. Emergency crews were called to the scene shortly after 1:30pm on Sunday, 5 October, but sadly, Margarida could not be saved.
Family Mourns “Kind and Good” Margarida
Heartbroken family members, supported by specialist police officers, paid a moving tribute to Margarida. They described her as “a very good and kind person” who “will be deeply missed” by all who knew her.
“We are continuing to work very closely with the police and are being supported by Family Liaison Officers. If you have any information about Margarida that you think might be useful, we would urge you to speak with the police urgently. We would also request some privacy at this very difficult time. Thank you.”
Man Arrested Over Murder, Now on Bail
Police arrested a 39-year-old Southampton man on suspicion of murder in connection with Margarida’s death. He has since been released on conditional bail pending ongoing investigations. His bail runs until 5 January 2026.
