Woman Found Stabbed to Death in Portsmouth Drug Deal Gone Wrong
A 36-year-old woman has been murdered in a brutal stabbing at a home on Toronto Road, Portsmouth. The victim, named as Nadine Burden, was found with multiple stab wounds.
Deadly Drug Deal Sparks Fatal Attack
Police believe the killing is linked to a £70 drug deal gone wrong. Nadine had arranged the deal, and the attackers visited her home demanding their cut. The weapon, a knife used in the savage attack, is still being hunted by officers scouring nearby drains and surrounding areas.
Two Women Held as Police Hunt for Murder Weapon
Two local women remain in custody at Portsmouth Central Police Station. Authorities have arrested a 43-year-old woman on suspicion of murder and a 52-year-old woman suspected of assisting an offender. Both are from Portsmouth but have not been named.
Police Plea: “Speak Up If You Saw Anything”
Detective Inspector Simon Baker urged: “We are continuing to appeal for anyone who was in the area of Toronto Road on Saturday night who may have seen anything suspicious to come forward and speak to us. If you have any information, no matter how small it may seem, please speak to us and tell us what you know.”
Hampshire Police’s major crime unit have been granted extra time by magistrates to continue their investigation.
