East Malling Monster Jailed for Injecting Child with Drugs
Lee Balchin, 55, from East Malling, has been locked up for 15 years after a horrific spree of child sex abuse. Between 2000 and 2004, Balchin repeatedly raped and assaulted his victim, even injecting her with dangerous drugs.
He forced the child to take cannabis, suspected ecstasy pills, and alcohol. At times, the girl was so drugged she was near unconscious during the attacks.

Balchin groomed and abused the child in a series of isolated locations where he thought no one could stop him. He also threatened to kill her if she ever spoke out, maintaining a terrifying grip of control.
The vile offences only came to light in 2018 when the victim reported them to Kent Police, kicking off a lengthy investigation and Balchin’s eventual arrest.
Denied Charges, But Monster Found Guilty and Sentenced
Balchin denied all accusations, but the jury at Maidstone Crown Court found him guilty of two counts of rape and two counts of indecent assault in August 2025. On 13 October 2025, he was jailed for 15 years and must serve at least two-thirds before parole.
Detective Constable Lisa Roots said: “Balchin is an extremely dangerous individual who subjected his young victim to a truly harrowing catalogue of appalling and terrifying abuse. It is rare to encounter such callous depravity. He took her to isolated areas to avoid detection and threatened to kill her.”
