East Sussex Man Charged with Sexual Assault on Woman Sunbathing
Mohammed Maatoug, 33, has been charged with sexual assault by penetration. The incident took place on 25 August, when a woman in her 50s was attacked while sunbathing in the dunes in East Sussex.

After the victim reported the assault, police launched a prompt investigation. On 6 September, officers arrested Maatoug, of 1 Road, on suspicion of the sexual assault.
Charged and Remanded in Custody
Maatoug was formally charged and remanded in custody at East Sussex Magistrates’ Court on 9 September. He is due back in court on 7 October, though the exact venue remains unconfirmed.
