Man Arrested After Officers Attacked in Abbey Road Scuffle
At 9.50pm on Wednesday 8 March 2023, police were called to a disturbance on Abbey Road. Upon arrival, two officers were allegedly assaulted by a man.
Both officers were rushed to hospital but have since been discharged.
Suspect Nabbed in Chatham High Street
The following day, police tracked down a suspect in Chatham High Street. Adam Warr, 37, of no fixed address, was arrested.
Charged with Assault and Racially Aggravated Offences
Warr faces charges of actual bodily harm and assaulting an emergency worker linked to the Abbey Road attack.
He is also charged with racially aggravated public order offences from a separate incident on Tuesday 7 March.
Next Court Date Set
The 37-year-old appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 10 March. He is due back in court on 17 March.
