Swindon drug dealer Kane Townsend locked up for 2½ years after £65k crack and heroin operation busted
Swindon man guilty of major Class A supply
Kane Tommaso Townsend, 25, from Swindon, has been sentenced to two-and-a-half years behind bars for running a drugs line dealing crack cocaine and heroin. He pleaded guilty to two counts of involvement in supplying Class A drugs at Swindon Crown Court.
£65,000 drugs haul taken down
Between November 2022 and February 2023, Townsend operated a lucrative drug supply network worth nearly £65,000. Over around 50 days, he distributed approximately 650 grams of crack cocaine and heroin through local drug lines.
Arrest and police praise
Townsend was arrested on February 3 following police work and intelligence from the community. Officers found him with a mobile phone linked to the drug operation. He was remanded in custody before admitting his crimes in March.
PC William Saunders of the Fortitude Team said: “This is a good sentence and takes a drug dealer off the streets of Swindon. It sends a clear signal that drugs will not be tolerated in Swindon or anywhere else in Wiltshire.”
“The Fortitude Team will proactively seek out and take positive action on drugs lines that try and establish themselves in our communities. This is to protect the most vulnerable and create safer public spaces for all.”
Townsend was also ordered to pay a £228 victim surcharge as part of his punishment.
