Four Girls Critically Burnt in Brighton Wendy’s Fire
Sussex Police have given a crucial update on the blaze that ripped through a Wendy’s restaurant in Brighton on Halloween, October 31. Four 12-year-old girls suffered serious burn injuries and remain in hospital receiving urgent treatment.
Police Demand No Speculation as Misinformation Spreads
In a firm statement, officers urged the public to stop spreading rumours. “We urge the public not to speculate about this incident, which has had a profound impact on the children involved,” Sussex Police said.
The force also slammed false social media claims. They confirmed a young girl wrongly named as connected to the fire was never at the scene. Crucially, police have found no evidence of third-party involvement. Both fire services and police deem the incident non-suspicious, and importantly, no fireworks were involved.
Investigation Ongoing as Families Supported
Authorities continue their investigation while offering support to the young victims’ families. Sussex Police emphasise that all updates and inquiries should be verified only through official channels to avoid further confusion.
