Police in Tadpole Garden Village spotted a BMW hurtling along with no lights in the early hours of April 5. When officers tried to pull it over, the driver sped off, sparking a high-speed chase.
The pursuit raced into nearby Highworth before finally coming to a halt on the A361. Cops arrested a man in his 20s from Swindon on suspicion of vehicle theft.
Stolen Car in Dead of Night
Enquiries revealed the BMW was reported stolen by its registered owner, who was completely unaware it had been taken from outside his home until police got in touch.
Suspect Held for Questioning
The man remains in custody at Gablecross police station as officers continue their investigation into the theft and chase.
