A 55-year-old woman sustained life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car on Chipperfield Road, Orpington, at approximately 7.50am on Thursday, June 19.

Emergency services, including the Metropolitan Police, London Ambulance Service, and London Fire Brigade, responded promptly to the scene. The woman received treatment on site before being transported to a major trauma centre for specialist care.

Urgent Medical Response London Ambulance Service confirmed that their first paramedic arrived within five minutes of the emergency call. The patient was prioritised for transfer by road to a major trauma centre to receive advanced medical treatment.

Currently, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident. The Metropolitan Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the event or has relevant information to contact them on 101, quoting CAD 1659/19Jun.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the collision are ongoing as police work to establish the full details of what happened.
