London police responded quickly to reports of a woman in danger on Bow Road flyover at 2.40 a.m. on Friday, April 7. Despite efforts, the woman fell from the flyover onto the busy A12 below, resulting in her death.

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that the death is being treated as unexpected but not suspicious. Officers were called to the scene after concerns were raised about the woman’s safety.

The incident caused major traffic disruption on the A12, affecting vehicles heading into East London. Although the immediate traffic chaos has subsided, emergency services remain vigilant in the area.

Authorities have launched an official investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fall. A spokesperson for the Met stated, “Police are investigating the death of a woman who fell from a flyover on Bow Road onto the A12 at about 2.40am on Friday, April 7.”

The Directorate of Professional Standards is overseeing the case, and the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has been informed as part of the ongoing inquiry.
