Police were called to Kirkdale, Sydenham, around 11am on Wednesday, June 10, after a car crashed into the Tesco Express store. Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended the scene promptly.

Collett Bartley, 42, from Kirkdale, was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and driving while disqualified following the incident. She was charged later that day.

Bartley is due to appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, June 11.

The Metropolitan Police responded swiftly to reports of the crash, working alongside the London Ambulance Service to manage the situation at the Tesco Express premises.

The arrest of Collett Bartley on suspicion of drink driving and driving while disqualified came after the vehicle collided with the store.

She was formally charged the same day and is scheduled for a court appearance at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on June 11.
