Two fire engines raced to the scene of a three-vehicle crash on the M2 London-bound near Gillingham. Fire crews used hydraulic cutters to free a trapped casualty from their vehicle.
The victim was handed over to paramedics on site for immediate medical attention. Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb), and the air ambulance were also quick to respond to the incident.
