Three men were pulled from mud during a dramatic rescue on the River Medway near Sittingbourne. The trio became stuck while boating off Lapwing Drive in Lower Halstow.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service responded swiftly after receiving reports of the men trapped in the mud. Five fire engines, including the specialist Water Safety Unit, worked alongside H.M. Coastguard to carry out the challenging rescue.
Using specialized mud rescue equipment, the crews successfully hauled the men back to dry land. Once rescued, the men were handed over to South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) for medical checks to ensure their well-being.
Kent Police officers were also present at the scene to assist with the rescue operation and provide support to emergency services.
