Vanessa Feltz Hospitalised with Agonising Kidney Stone

Vanessa Feltz, the familiar face from This Morning, was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery after being hit by excruciating pain from a large kidney stone.

Sharp Pain Strikes Amid Grandkids’ Playtime

In a video from her hospital bed, Vanessa revealed the shock ordeal. “At 2pm, I was fine, playing with my grandchildren,” she said. “By 3pm, I was doubled over in agony. The scan showed a big kidney stone. OMG! Astoundingly painful.”

The 61-year-old former BBC Radio 2 host described the sudden agony that forced her into surgery. “Rushed into the theatre,” she added, explaining the urgent procedure involved a laser to blast the 5mm stone out.

Vanessa Praises Hospital Heroes

Vanessa thanked hospital staff, including her daughter’s colleagues, nurses, porters, anaesthetists, and surgeons for their swift care during the emergency.

“The pain was actually worse than natural childbirth,” Vanessa admitted, causing her to cancel her LBC show.

Fans Rally with Support

Fellow presenters and fans flooded social media with well-wishes. Lisa Snowdon wrote, “Oh bloody hell V! Super ouch and thank goodness you’re ok. Big love honey.” Kate Thornton added, “Ouch! Thank goodness you’re in the right place. Feel better and sending my love x.”

What Are Kidney Stones?

Kidney stones come in several types like calcium, struvite, uric acid, and cystine. They cause severe pain when stuck between the kidney and bladder — as Vanessa painfully experienced.

Now recovering, Vanessa shared her relief after a successful procedure and hopes to be back to her usual self soon.
