Air France Jet’s Engine EXPLODES Mid-Flight – Passengers Plunge 30,000ft in Terror
Passengers aboard Air France flight AF 7721 were left praying for their lives after the plane’s left engine exploded just 30 minutes after takeoff. The Airbus A320 plunged nearly 30,000 feet in a heart-stopping freefall over France.
Flames and Screams: Panic Erupts as Plane Plunges
Chaos broke out on board. Fire alarms blared and warning lights flashed. Screams filled the cabin as panic took hold. One man grabbed his children, convinced the jet was doomed.
Captain’s Heroic Call: Emergency Landing on One Engine
The pilot calmly informed passengers the left engine had “stopped working.” Air France later confirmed it was an engine failure, likely caused by an engine surge — a dangerous burst of turbulence inside the engine.
With nerves of steel, the crew diverted to Lyon and safely landed the plane using only one engine. A spokesperson said this is routine procedure to keep passengers safe.
After landing, the shaken travellers were bussed to Ajaccio and finally reached their destination at 3am after a replacement flight via Bastia.
Industry experts stressed that flying on a single engine is rare but perfectly safe. They denied reports of flames on the wing but admitted brief flames inside the engine were possible.
Trauma and Legal Storm Brewing
Though nobody was injured, the ordeal has left deep scars. Joelle, a passenger, said she plans to sue Air France over the trauma caused to her 8-year-old granddaughter, who “spent the night trembling, crying, and waking from nightmares.”
The damaged Airbus, powered by the usually reliable CFM56 engines, remains grounded as investigators dig into the cause of the terrifying incident.
