Sussex Police are actively investigating a series of thefts and attempted thefts from garages and vehicles in Funtington that occurred on the night of 17 May. The incidents have caused concern among local residents and prompted a police appeal for witnesses and any relevant footage to assist with the investigation.
Officers have recorded six reports of burglary-related offences targeting garages and vehicles across the Funtington area. This recent crime spree has raised alarm within the community and led to increased police vigilance.
The police are urgently appealing for anyone who witnessed suspicious behaviour or who has CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage from the night in question to come forward. Individuals with information are encouraged to report online or call 101, quoting serial 328 of 17 May.
In response to the incidents, Sussex Police have assured residents that patrols in the area have been stepped up to deter further offences and to support ongoing enquiries.
A Sussex Police spokesperson said, “We understand the impact these offences have, and there will be an increased police presence while we continue our enquiries to provide reassurance and act as a deterrent.”
