Seventy Firefighters Battle Blazing Recycling Centre Fire in Brentford
West London in chaos as a massive fire erupts at Brentford’s recycling centre, sending thick smoke blotting out the sky and snarling traffic on the M4.

The blaze kicked off at 12:08pm on January 2nd, with around 80 firefighters scrambling to douse the flames on Transport Avenue, Brentford. Motorists face serious delays eastbound from Heston Services to junction 2 due to the choking smoke.
The plume is so huge it’s visible from Heathrow Airport, nearly six miles away.
Second Fire Breaks Out in North London
Meanwhile, another fire is raging at an industrial unit in Tottenham, north London. About 70 firefighters were called at 10am to tackle the inferno in Bernard Road near 1 Overground Station.
The blaze has gutted half the ground floor and roof of a large single-storey unit measuring 30 by 10 metres. The London Fire Brigade says the cause is still unknown.
