A serious crash involving two cars and a lorry has forced the closure of the clockwise carriageway of the M25 in Surrey near Godstone. The incident is causing major traffic disruptions for drivers in the area.

The collision occurred between Junction 5 (A21, Chipstead) and Junction 6 (Godstone), prompting an emergency response from Surrey Police and other emergency services. National Highways Traffic Officers are also present at the scene, working to manage traffic flow and assist stranded motorists.

Motorists travelling clockwise on the M25 should expect delays of up to 30 minutes. Drivers are advised to follow the hollow triangle diversion signs to avoid congestion. The suggested alternative route is to exit the M25 at Junction 5 onto the A21, then take the second exit onto the A25 towards Reigate (postcode RH2 9). From there, drivers can rejoin the M25 at Junction 6 (Godstone Interchange) to continue towards Gatwick Airport.

Travel experts recommend allowing extra journey time or postponing travel if possible until the motorway reopens.
