The A3(M) in Hampshire is fully closed in both directions between junction 2 (Dell Piece Interchange) and junction 3 (Waterlooville Interchange) following a serious crash involving a car and a motorbike.
Hampshire Police are leading the emergency response at the scene, supported by South Central Ambulance Service and National Highways Traffic Officers. The closure is expected to last throughout the night due to the severity of the collision.
Drivers caught within the closure are advised to stay with their vehicles. Authorities are currently completing the full road closure before beginning to turn traffic around from the back of the queue to clear the area. Patience is requested from all motorists affected.
To avoid the blockage on the A3(M), the following diversion routes are in place:
Southbound Diversion:
Exit at junction 2.
At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto B2149 (Dell Piece West).
Continue to the A3 Portsmouth Road junction.
Turn left onto the A3 towards Waterlooville.
At the B2150 Hulbert Road roundabout, take the 1st exit.
Follow the B2150 to junction 3 of the A3(M).
Take the 3rd exit at the roundabout to rejoin the A3(M) southbound.
Northbound Diversion:
Exit at junction 3.
At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto B2150 Hulbert Road.
At the A3 roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto the A3.
Follow the A3 to the junction with B2149 (Dell Piece West).
Turn right onto B2149 then proceed to A3(M) junction 2.
Take the 1st exit at the roundabout to rejoin the A3(M) northbound.
