A Red Arrows jet encountered a tyre burst while landing at Farnborough Airport this afternoon. The pilot managed to bring the aircraft down safely despite the incident.
Emergency services, including fire and rescue teams from Farnborough and Hampshire, responded immediately to the scene. The pilot, who was flying from RAF Fairford, was unharmed and walked away without injury.
Airport fire crews worked quickly to clear the runway, removing tyre debris and other foreign objects to ensure the tarmac was safe for other flights.
Officials temporarily closed the runway to all air traffic while the damaged tyre remnants were cleared. This measure was taken to maintain safety and prevent further incidents.
The Red Arrows team, using Farnborough Airport as a stopover, are preparing for a spectacular display at the Goodwood Festival of Speed later today.
