A Red Arrows jet suffered a dramatic burst tyre while landing at Farnborough Airport in Hampshire this afternoon. Despite the incident, the aircraft touched down safely and was immediately met by fire and rescue teams.
Hampshire Fire and Rescue crews from Rushmoor rushed to the scene after reports of the burst tyre. They quickly cleared tyre remnants and other debris from the runway, which was closed to all traffic during the cleanup operation.
The RAF Fairford-based pilot was uninjured following the scare. The iconic Red Arrows team planned to use Farnborough as their stopover before performing at the Goodwood Festival of Speed later today.
