British Transport Police have issued a public appeal following a sexual assault on a woman at Walthamstow Central station in London on 29 April. The incident took place on a busy London Overground platform stairwell.

Police are urgently seeking a man seen on CCTV who may have crucial information related to the assault. Detectives have released footage of the suspect, who approached the woman on the stairwell before attacking her and then leaving the scene.

A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “Detectives would like to speak to the man pictured, as they believe he may have information which could help their investigation.” The inquiry remains ongoing as officers continue to gather evidence.
