Rail Chaos After Person Found Dead on Tracks Near Wellingborough
Trains Delayed Up to 90 Minutes
Rail services are in chaos after a person was discovered dead on the railway tracks near Wellingborough this Tuesday afternoon (12 August). The death sparked immediate disruption across the network.
British Transport Police (BTP) were called to the line between Kettering and Bedford at around 12.45pm following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics attended but sadly confirmed the person was dead at the scene.

“Officers were called to the line near Wellingborough at around 12.45pm today (12 August) following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. Enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances leading up to their death.”
Severe Disruption to East Midlands Railway Services
The tragic incident has wreaked havoc on East Midlands Railway routes including St Pancras, Corby, and Nottingham. Train cancellations and delays of up to 90 minutes have been reported. Expectations are that disruption will continue into the evening.
