Drama unfolded on the riverbank in Strood earlier today when a woman’s car became stuck in the mud near Knight Road.
Emergency services responded quickly as Kent Fire and Rescue Service arrived at the scene with three fire engines, a water safety unit, and a height vehicle to assist in freeing the stranded woman.
Thankfully, the rescue crews were able to pull the woman to safety before handing her over to 123 South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) for further care.
The vehicle was subsequently recovered from the mud without any further incident.
Officials are now urging the public to exercise caution near riverbanks, especially during adverse weather conditions. Muddy banks have been causing various problems, including trapping vehicles and posing risks to life.
There have been no updates yet regarding the woman’s condition following the rescue.
