Emergency services responded swiftly just after 12:30am on Saturday when a person became trapped in mud at the Mountbatten Centre in Hilsea, Portsmouth.
Two coastguard search and rescue teams from Portsmouth and Hillhead joined forces with South Central Ambulance Service, Hampshire Fire and Rescue, and local police to carry out the dramatic rescue operation. Fire crews from Cosham also supported the coastguard teams during the incident.
The individual was safely freed from the muddy trap and then handed over to Hampshire Constabulary for further care and assistance.
