A serious multi-vehicle crash has slammed the M25 clockwise from Junction 30 (Purfleet-on-Thames) to Junction 2 (Dartford). The chaos has caused massive delays, with some motorists stuck for up to two hours.
National Highways Traffic Officers, Kent Police, Kent Fire & Rescue, and the Air Ambulance from Kent Surrey Sussex are battling the aftermath. The motorway remains closed southbound between J30 and the A282 at J2 as crews work hard to clear the wreckage and restore traffic flow.
Clockwise queues stretch 11 miles from J29 to the A282 at J2. Anti-clockwise delays of around 60 minutes have been reported between J3 (M20, Swanley) and J1a (Dartford).
Motorists are warned to expect huge delays and consider alternative routes or postpone journeys if possible. Road users around Dartford are urged to leave extra travel time tonight. The disruption looks set to continue while emergency teams clear the incident and investigate the cause.
