A massive grass fire erupted at Walthamstow Marshes on Friday afternoon, prompting a significant emergency response in East London.
The fire started near Sandy Lane, Walthamstow, leading to the deployment of four fire engines to tackle the blaze. Firefighters established a base at the nearby Lea Bridge Ice Rink as they worked to control the flames.
Crews from the London Fire Brigade (LFB) acted quickly to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading further across the marshland. Their prompt efforts helped stop what could have become a much larger and more damaging fire.
Metropolitan Police officers arrived at the scene to assist with managing the area and ensuring public safety. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported so far.
The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time. Authorities have indicated that an investigation may be launched to determine the origin of the blaze.
