A man has been jailed for more than 12 years after being convicted of raping a teenage girl in a park in Slough. Travis Moore, 37, of Great West Road, Hounslow, was sentenced at Reading Crown Court on Monday, 6 July, after being found guilty of rape. Moore was handed a sentence of 12 years and nine months’ imprisonment. He will serve nine years and nine months in custody, with the remainder of the sentence to be served on licence.
Unanimous guilty verdict
Moore was convicted by a unanimous jury following a five-day trial at Reading Crown Court, which concluded on 5 May. The conviction relates to an offence that took place between 11.30pm on 1 November 2025 and 1am on 2 November 2025 in Baylis Park, Slough. The court heard that a teenage girl reported she had been raped in the park by a man unknown to her.
Arrested nearby
Following the report, officers from Thames Valley Police attended the scene immediately and located Moore nearby. He was arrested on 2 November 2025, charged the following day and remanded into custody. Following the trial, the jury unanimously found Moore guilty of one count of rape.
Police praise victim’s courage
Thames Valley Police welcomed the sentence and praised the victim for her courage throughout the investigation and court proceedings. Moore will remain subject to licence conditions following his release from prison.
